Hound Dog Bakery

hi, we're so glad you're here

Our Story

Hound Dog Bakery started where most good things do: in a home kitchen, with two very hungry critics standing by.

Georgie and Gracie wearing red chef hats

It started with two basset hounds and a label I couldn't pronounce.

A few years ago, I went looking for dog treats I could actually feel good about giving Georgie and Gracie. I'd flip a bag over, read the ingredients, and put it right back. Mystery proteins. Preservatives older than my dogs. Sugar. Sugar everywhere.

I'm not a food scientist. I'm just someone who loves her dogs and grew up baking with her mom on Sundays. So I started experimenting — peanut butter, oats, eggs from the farmers market down the street. Things I could pronounce. Things I'd eat myself in a pinch (and have).

Word got around. Friends asked for batches. Then strangers. Then a little market booth on Saturday mornings. And now — somehow — a whole bakery built one cookie sheet at a time.
